Data Protection Officer (DPO)
The introduction of the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) removed the requirement for the Parish Council to have in place a Data Protection Officer, which was usually assumed to be included in the role of the Clerk.
At the Parish Council meeting in January 2019, the Clerk removed herself from this role and the Parish Council accepted the decision and agreed to retain an external and independent person as there Data Protection Officer who will offer advise and support to the Council.
