Birstall Parish Council

I was elected unopposed to Birstall Parish Council in April 2012.

I have lived in Birstall for 32 years and our two children both went to the local schools.

I worked as a teacher for 35 years. The last post I held before retirement in 2016 was as Headteacher of a Leicestershire County Special School. I also worked as a National Leader of Education with other schools and Head teachers, and as a teacher trainer.

I have previously served as secretary of Birstall and Wanlip Neighbourhood Watch and still act as coordinator for my street on 'The Gates'.

Now that I have retired I am keen to serve as a Parish Councillor to help improve our local community.
