Birstall Playing Fields, Play Equipment and Outdoor Gym Equipment

The Parish Council have fully opened all of their enclosed play areas and play equipment on Monday 20 July 2020.

All play equipment will be disinfected twice a week by the Council's staff. Signage is in place limiting the numbers who can enter the enclosed play areas and asking you to avoid it if it is busy, the signs also remind everyone to social distance and wash your hands.

The School Lane playing fields are accessible on foot from 7:30am from three entrances on Loughborough Road, Sibson Road Car Park and the Memorial Gates on School Lane. Harrowgate Drive playing fields will be unlocked at 8:30am, the Meadow Lane playing fields are accessible at all times.

The Car Park will remain closed for the foreseeable future. This has proved to be a successful measure to control the number of people arriving in this area and has reduced the amount of litter and garden furniture being left behind. The Council has not received any complaints about the car park being locked and they thank everyone for their understanding of the reasons behind keeping them locked is to keep everyone safe.

The Parish Council retain the right to close all of these areas should the Governments advice on social distancing measures not being adhered to and in reaction to any changes that the Government decide to implement.
