Birstall's Remembrance event this year was a very low key event but it was important that some commemoration took place to honour those who lost their lives during the two World Wars and other conflicts. Many Years ago, Birstall Parish Council were Trustees of a local charity that has now ceased to exist. The Charity was set up to meet the needs of the elderly and needy in the village and when the Charity closed its accounts, the Parish Council decided to continue with this initiative and they honored the beneficiary list by making sure that they all received the gift of a Christmas Hamper.

Birstall Playing Fields, Play Equipment and Outdoor Gym Equipment

The Parish Council have fully opened all of their enclosed play areas and play equipment on Monday 20 July 2020.

All play equipment will be disinfected twice a week by the Council's staff. Signage is in place limiting the numbers who can enter the enclosed play areas and asking you to avoid it if it is busy, the signs also remind everyone to social distance and wash your hands.
