School Lane Playing Fields Car Park - CLOSED until further notice

Birstall Parish Council have taken the decision to close the car park onto School Lane playing fields from today, 1 June 2020 until further notice.

The three pedestrian entrances on School Lane, Loughborough Road and Sibson Road will remain open for the time being.

Harrowgate Drive Playing Fields, Enclosed Play Areas & Grounds Maintenance

The Parish Council are pleased to inform you that Harrowgate Drive Playing Fields have now been made safe by locking off the enclosed toddlers play area and have fenced off the play equipment. Birstall Sports Grounds and Playing Fields

Due to certain restrictions being lifted by the Government, the Parish Council have opened Meadow Lane playing fields today, Wednesday, 13 May 2020. The enclosed toddlers area will remain closed and the youth shelter has been cordoned off and is temporarily out of use.

School Lane Playing Fields are being prepared now and the two entrances on School Lane will be open on Thursday, 14 May 2020.

Questions are being asked about why the Parish Council's playing fields, sports grounds and play areas remain locked, when the Government has recently announced that parks should remain open to the public.

Birstall Gala 2020 - CANCELLED

Office Closure

The decision has been taken to close the Parish Council offices to the public to reduce the risk of infection. Whilst the office and Estates staff are still working, we need to put measures in place to protect the staff until such changes are forced upon us to self isolate or the Country chooses to go into lock down.
